Want a more comprehensive program?

You may be thinking, "My photography business is not producing like it should."

Most photographers truly love the creative and artistic aspects of photography, but find that they don't enjoy the "business" part of the photography "business". Let’s face it, earning a living is a good thing! Not making enough to pay the bills is terrible! Many photographers express frustration at having good sales, but not having enough left over at the end of the month, after paying rent, employees, utilities and the lab, to pay themselves. If this sounds like you, then "Personal Trainer" is for you!

Are you looking for the fastest road to success in launching a new photography business?

Do you love photography and working with people? Are you getting requests from people wanting you to photograph them? Are you thinking that photography would be a fun way to make a living but you just aren't sure how to get started or what kind of equipment you should buy? Maybe you already have some lights and a professional camera, but you are not sure how to use them or how to get customers to come to you. Perhaps you are looking for a solid foundation on which to build a successful career in professional photography? Then, "Personal Trainer" is also for you!

“Personal Trainer” is available for those who want a more complete program. This 12 month membership begins with a full 8 hours of observation and evaluation in your studio. This gives me the opportunity to see your operation inside and out. We will spend the day looking at everything from pricing and marketing materials, to studio environment and telephone techniques used by you and your employees. You may elect to use this 8 hours in 4 two-hour "private lesson" sessions instead. In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend photographic workshops that are hosted in my studio at no additional charge. You may also elect to “spend the day” with me at a wedding or bridal show or portrait session. Finally, I will provide up to 6 hours of follow-up assistance via telephone or e-mail that can be used as needed during your membership period.

My travel costs to your studio are included in the fee for travel within 50 miles of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Travel beyond this distance may require some additional travel expense. Please call for details.

Some Final Thoughts...

I began my photographic career in 1981. As a young photographer, I learned a great deal from attending workshops and conventions that were sponsored by TPPA and PPA. I owe a great deal of my success to the talented photographers who presented programs at these various events. But living in east Texas, I always felt somewhat isolated from other photographers. I never had anyone who “showed me the ropes” and I never had anyone that I felt like I could call and ask questions on issues we face on a daily basis.

I always wondered how other studios operated and how they managed various tasks. I did not really know much about pricing strategies and marketing, either. I wished I had someone I could turn to for direction and advice. During the “early years”, I learned a great deal through trial and error. As a result, I made a lot of mistakes. While it is true that one can learn from mistakes, I know that I would rather learn which mistakes to avoid in the first place.

As my career developed and matured, I found myself at various crossroads where I was having to make some decisions about the direction of my business. Sometimes changes were necessary due to changes in my marketplace; new competition, weakened economy, community development in areas away from my location. Other situations called for change because of the way I was doing things or NOT doing things!

I have been very fortunate to have made some tough decisions along the way. These decisions have been the difference between success and failure. I have gone from being totally “burned out”, to totally engulfed in passion for the craft of photography. In sharing my story with photographers from across the country, I have know that there are many photographers out there who are looking for answers.

I have known an number of photographers who are skeptics and who refuse to address the issues of change when it comes to running a business. Most of them are now “former” photographers! I have worked with countless others, who have survived and thrived!

In the process, I have learned something about myself; I love to teach almost as much as I love to shoot! I enjoy helping other photographers work through the issues that get in the way of their success! I enjoy rolling up my sleeves and getting down to the business of making an impact on how we do business. I love doing the programs and seminars, but it does not compare to what you can learn through one-to-one guidance.

It is time to take action.

If you are looking for solutions or need to change the way you are doing things, give me a call! Whether you are facing a single issue, or need to totally reinvent yourself, I can help. For less than you are probably charging for one wedding, you can become a member of my “Personal Trainer” program. (If you are charging less, you can’t afford NOT to call me!)

  • Yes! This is an opportunity that I will not let get away! I want a "Personal Trainer" membership.

I would be very interested in a personal consultation, but probably not the "Personal Trainer" program. Please call me to discuss my options for either an in-studio evaluation or telephone consultation.
