Visit the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the National Seashore with this exciting photographic adventure. |
|
If you look on your map of North Carolina, you will notice a series of small barrier islands just off the mainland. This area is know as, "The Outer Banks" and is home to over 100 miles of National Seashore and 5 lighthouses including the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. |
| The Outer Banks is home to such seaside communities as Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. While these communities host a tremendous tourist population, we seem to "step back in time" when we visit the quaint little fishing village of Ocracoke. |

A favorite activity is simply
walking and photographing along the dunes. These shapely mounds of fine, arid
sand line the entire coastline. The breezes form and re-shape the dunes
one grain of sand at a time creating an artwork of its own.
To photograph the dunes, is a study in design and shape and contrasts.

![]() This adventure take you to 4 of the 5 lighthouses along The Outer Banks including the beautiful red brick Currituck Beach Lighthouse where we will climb the 222 steps to the top to get a "birds-eye" view from the observation deck. |

The highlight of this adventure is of course the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and the dunes along the 100 mile coastline. The dunes add drama and romance to the images of the spectacular seascapes. |

I suppose there are really two groups of
people in the world - those who have been
to the Outer Banks and those who just don’t understand those of us
who have. It is hard to explain the magnetism of this place. Sure, the
beach, the ocean and the
sunsets provide the obvious lure, but it goes beyond the tangible. Perhaps it is the
unknown force that takes one by the soul and transforms the spirit that is so
addictive. People who have visited The Outer Banks know exactly what I’m talking
about. For the rest of you - join me and find out for yourself.
